Essentially Lavender is a family-owned lavender farm nestled in the rolling hills of Bruce County near Teeswater, Ontario. Founded in 2018 by Bill and Cathy Kirk on a picturesque 1869 homestead, the operation features lush lavender gardens (with seven cultivars to extend blooming), shrub and perennial gardens, a labyrinth, xeriscape plantings, and an apiary where guests can watch bees at work.
The farm opens seasonally from late May through Labour Day, offering both self-guided and group tours, comfortable seating and picnic areas, photography spots, and even three cozy “bunkies” available for overnight stays. They also operate an on-site boutique—open year-round online and in person—with a full lineup of small-batch, all-natural lavender products such as soaps, lotions, linen sprays, honey, essential oils, balms, bath salts, teas, and plant sales. Visitors can also watch essential oil distillation demos and enjoy a serene, sensory-rich retreat surrounded by lavender’s beauty and fragrance.
