Bayfield Lavender Farm

Bayfield Lavender Farm is a small-scale farm run by Gemma James-Smith: naturally, sustainably growing lavender plants with a large part of the focus on fostering more robust habitat for pollinators. Gemma has been propagating, fostering, harvesting, and creating with lavender since 2018. Harvested by hand and working in small batches, the farm’s French and English lavenders are steam distilled for essential oil and valuable hydrosols while some English varieties are also dried for culinary use. Located just outside of Bayfield (Ontario), the farm has been open seasonally to visitors since 2023: people come to relax in the surrounding gardens, shop handcrafted lavender products in the rustic farm shop, and participate in a number of workshops and events on offer. The products that the farm produces are all made by hand using as many organic, ethically and locally sourced ingredients as possible. Our Mission: Bayfield Lavender Farm strives to provide a place of tangible calm and beauty in an increasingly fast-paced digitizing world.
