Lavender Ontario

Growing lavender is a challenge on any scale in Ontario. In this talk, Sean discussed best practices for growing lavender in Ontario including understanding the best soils for growing, choosing the right varieties, pruning principles, pests to watch out for, harvesting practices, and how to protect plants over winter. The talk also bridged the gap between gardening and commercial lavender production including how to use farming knowledge to ensure healthy plants in the garden, and how to use gardening knowledge to set up commercial farms for agritourism.
