In this season of celebration and thanksgiving, it is essential to recognize the contribution of two individuals who have been instrumental in both the establishment and success of the Ontario Lavender Association (OLA) – John Kelly, Vice-President of Erie Innovation and Commercialization & Shelley Imbeault, Project Co-ordinator.
Erie Innovation and Commercialization is a broadly supported regional effort to transform the future of agriculture in the five county region of Ontario known as SCOR, South Central Ontario Region, and comprising the counties of Norfolk, Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford and Brant.
Fortunately, a number of lavender farms are located in this SCOR region, having permitted Erie Innovation and Commercialization to allocate time and human resources to the OLA. Provincially, lavender growers and associates have gained by John’s incredible networking abilities and his innovation and commercialization expertise. Likewise, OLA members have benefited by Shelley’s amazing coordination expertise.
Our recent two day lavender conference is one example of the successful partnership efforts with Erie Innovation and Commercialization. The OLA is looking forward to continued partnership with Erie Innovation and Commercialization in the future.
